Our story

Casuarina started with a towel.

A few of us were on the Gold Coast and someone needed one. We thought it would be an easy buy. Anything under fifty dollars felt cheap, so we paid eighty for one that looked like it might last. After one wash, the colour had already changed.

That annoyed me more than it probably should have. You could spend good money and still end up with something that couldn't make it through a summer. And after spending most of my life around the water, I'd somehow never owned a towel I genuinely loved using.

So we decided to make one.

We wanted a towel that held its colour, dried properly and still looked good a few summers later. We called it Casuarina after the she-oaks that grow along the dunes up and down this coast. They don't make much noise. They just handle the salt, wind and whatever else the coast throws at them.

We're small, we're new, and we're still learning. But one thing is simple: we are always open to feedback and we are always improving. We hope you stick around.

Our mission

To make coastal essentials worth keeping. That means choosing fabric that's built to be washed rather than babied, being straight with you about what something is made of and how it fits, and answering our own emails when it isn't right.

Our vision

An Australian summer where buying well isn't a two hundred dollar decision. We'd like to see Casuarina towels on the sand up and down this coast, and see those same ones still going in five summers' time.
